Q-Power Advancing Resilient Power Systems Through Quantum Technologies

We are excited to announce the approval of our new EUREKA Network Project:

“Q-Power: Quantum-Driven Resilient Power Systems: Revolutionizing Energy Security for the Future” which was applied to “EUREKA 2025 – Applied Quantum Technologies Call”.

Consortium members:

Aalborg University (project coordinator), Neogrid, University of Johannesburg, Istanbul Technical University and EPRA

The project will integrate the following layers into a quantum-driven platform to ensure energy security and resilient power grid operations, offering operational, economic, and security benefits:

1. Physical layer: will model power system components – generators, transformers, transmission lines, and renewables – along with environmental factors like wind, solar irradiance, and weather forecasts.

2. Management layer: will integrate quantum-accelerated power flow and optimal power flow analysis to optimize generation dispatch, minimize operational costs, and maintain grid stability under variable demand and intermittent renewable generation.

3. Communication layer: will focus on securing the grid against evolving cyber threats.
